The genuine Racketeer Nickel on this pocket watch started a crime wave. But the only thing you'll be accused of is stealing the show, when everyone turns to look at your beautiful timepiece. When the coin was first struck by the U.S. Mint in 1883, nowhere did it say that the denomination was five cents. Because the size and design were similar to the $5 gold piece, some enterprising persons gold-plated the nickels and passed them off for $5 gold pieces. (The denomination was quickly added to the Nickel's reverse.) The coin is over 100 years old, attached by a polished gold-tone fob to a state-of-the-art quartz timepiece in a matching polished gold-tone case. The watch is 1-1/8" in diameter, with a 7" fob.
